Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow is once again sidelined due to injury. This time it’s turf toe, which he will need surgery on after sustaining the injury in their win over the Jaguars yesterday, putting him out of action for at least three months. The Bengals have effectively lost him for the season because they failed to get him an offensive line that can allow him to thrive or even just keep him on the field.
Dan Patrick: “The offensive line, that’s not just limiting Joe Burrow’s ceiling, it’s keeping him off the field now…At some point you’d think Cincinnati would learn its lesson, you don’t hand out these contracts without protecting those who are making that kind of money. Without (Joe) Burrow, the Bengals, they were contenders to maybe an afterthought, and that can happen in a hurry. I know it’s only two weeks, but this is one of those once again where you go, if you’re a Bengal fan, it’s not a question of if Joe Burrow’s going to get hurt, it’s which body part.”
