Emmanuel Acho Says Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown Need to Be Split Up ASAP

Emmanuel Acho: “You have to break up the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, and it’s time to break it up for this reason… Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are in this unofficial standoff for who is supposed to be the leader of the team. Jayson Tatum is such a nice guy and Jaylen Brown is such a good player that it’s not clear-cut to Jaylen Brown who is the best player on that team. As a result there is a constant tug of war for who should be the best. I think of it as Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. Both drafted to the same squad and you couldn’t tell Russell Westbrook who was the best player. Six years together, four conference championship appearances, one NBA Finals appearance [for KD and Westbrook]. Tatum and Brown: six years together, four conference championships, one NBA Finals appearance, no wins. When Westbrook and Durant split up they both were better off. Westbrook won a regular season MVP, KD got the Warriors two titles. When Tatum and Brown split up they will both be better off. Westbrook was close enough to Durant in talent that HE believed he was better, and he was never going to defer. Durant is not selfish enough to beg for the ball. I think Brown and Tatum are close enough in talent— First-Team All-NBA, Second-Team All-NBA— you can’t convince Brown that Tatum is better, thus he will not defer. You gotta break up the duo in my mind.” (Full Segment Above)

Watch Emmanuel Acho of Fox Sports 1’s ‘Speak’ explain why he thinks the Boston Celtics need to break up the star-studded yet under-achieving duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Check out the segment above as Acho compares Tatum and Brown in Boston to Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City, saying that splitting them up will only help  advance both of their careers.
